It was easy to use. I mixed the the mold solution using a power drill and a special bit. I definitely recommend using some form of electronic drill or mixer. When I first tried it out I tried mixing by hand but the solution activated too fast. It was easy to clean up any splatter or spill just using water and a rag. The storage containers are great for mixing everything and the molds. Bc I was doing bigger adult hands to get them out I cut a side to the container but I ducktaped it back for when I poured another.

For step 1 - Pour the Algiante Molding Powder into the bucket and it turns blue before you stir it in. Why?
- Answer: There are roughly 4 situations when it turns blue immediately: 1. The amount of water added is seriously insufficient. 2. The water is hard. 3. The water temperature is higher than 30 degrees. 4. The powder has been left for too long.
- The solution is to use 2000ML pure water around 28 degrees.
For step 1 - The manual said to put your hand into the purple molding liquid and wait for 3-10 minutes for it to solidify, but I waited for 30 minutes. Why?
- Answer: Probably the pure water used by the customer is very cold water, and it will solidify in 30 minutes. The solution is to use 2000ML pure water around 28 degrees.
For Step 2 - The casting powder will harden as soon as you add water. How much water should be added specifically? How many minutes to wait to pour into the mold?
- Answer: basically need to add 420ml water ; Stir continuously for 1 minute until it becomes viscous.
- Scenarios for hardening after adding water: 1. If the water volume is less than 400ml, it will solidify completely within 60 seconds. 2. The water quality is very hard or alkaline, which will accelerate solidification. 3. The powder packaging is damaged and is left damp and is not used immediately after opening the packaging.
- If there are many such problems, the amount of water can be increased to 450 ml.
Why are there bubbles after molding?
- Answer: This situation is normal. During the first step of production, bubbles will be generated during stirring, causing the model in the second step to have small particles. These particles are generally very weak and can be disappeared by sandpaper or rubbing with your hands.
Why mold fingers are missing.
- Answer: This situation is called air U-shaped obstruction. During the mold filling process, the gypsum solution did not completely enter the U-shaped edge of the mold with bubbles. The solution is: pour it along the mold wall when pouring the mold, and tap it during the mold filling process. When half of the filling is done, tap and shake vigorously until the bubbles are completely discharged, and you will get a complete model.

I bought this a while ago and finally got around to using it today. I had my 2 and 5 year old use it because I thought it'd be sweet to have a mold of their hands when they're still relatively small. My 2 year old kept moving around as the cast was setting up and I thought, this is gonna be a lost cause and I'm going to end up needing to throw it out. The younger one also got nervous as it starting firming up, so maybe not ideal for small children to use buy my 5 year old did really well with it. I used a whisk and the biggest mixing bowl I had; I was a bit worried they might be ruined but everything was able to be cleaned perfectly after use. The cast, purple stuff, was really lumpy but true to instructions, within three minutes it looked just right. It took a bit to start firming up in the bucket. It definitely turned blue before it firmed up but you can 100% tell once it's firmed up. It'll be like a mix between a Jello jiggler and PlayDoh and for us it took about 10-12 minutes. As you can see from my pictures, once their hands were out, it really just looked like 2 holes in the cast and again I thought, this isn't going to turn out well (because of the kid moving around a lot as it set up). The plaster set ups quickly, as the instructions warn. I followed the instructions with everything and it worked great. Because I had two little kid hands in mine, there was quite a bit more plaster than I needed to fill the holes. I decided to pour most of it in anyways to create a sort of base to stand it up. This did make it harder to remove once it was set because there was plaster right up against the bucket, but I got it out gently, eventually. So since my youngest kept moving, I really wasn't expecting much as I started removing the blue casting stuff, so I literally squealed and shouted OMG when I got my first glimpse of what was inside because it was AMAZING! My 5 year old's details show up stronger because they were much more still but the 2 year old details are still amazing despite them moving so much. I'm just blown away by this. Because their hands weren't completely together, it's a little hard to remove the blue casting stuff from the tiny gaps between their hands but I am just beyond thrilled with this. I think I'll be buying more to give as gifts. Follow the instructions and be impressed. Definitely worth getting.
